Subject: This Week In Dracut, June 26th.

FIVE!!!!!

Lucky me. It was very unfortunate that I had to miss the debate between Colleen Garry and DJ Deeb. From the looks of it in the forum, DJ stalked and walked all over Garry as she tried to defend the proposed tax bill on alcohol. I don’t know exactly how the debate went, but I am sure it was a good one. Tell me, did I really miss much?

What has gone on in Dracut over the past week or so?

Bob Corey responded to my last article correcting me on the water ban issue. Thank you very much Bob. So does this mean that the car wash on Lakeview Ave is in violation and will be fined? That is outside watering. Anyway, the water ban is as follows:

If your street address is a odd number, you can water your grass, wash your car, spray your house down, fill your pool, take a outdoor shower, spray the kids down to get relief from the heat, all kinds of things from 8PM thru 8AM ONLY ON ODD NUMBERED DAYS. They are 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, and sometimes 31. The same goes for even numbered addresses for even numbered days. You catch my drift?

So does that mean that the guy at 29 John Doe Ave who is watering his lawn on June 21st, has to stop doing so at the stroke of midnight? So if he keeps watering into June 22nd, he is indeed in violation. Correct?

Anyway, back to the everyday mumbo jumbo of Dracut.

Congrats to Mark Chandonett for winning the Lowell Cities Golf Tournament. Mark, a Dracut resident took the win over Doug Parigian in a 10-hole shootout at Vesper CC. Mark has joined an elite group to take back to back championships. Good luck on your next adventure!

Looks like the concert in the quarry was a big hit. I heard some great reviews about it. Hopefully we will get to do it again. I myself enjoyed it very much.

All in all, there hasn’t been too much going on in Dracut. The most of the talk is centered on the Alcohol Tax Bill that Colleen Garry is co-sponsoring. I can sit here all day and blah blah blah about why her decision to follow this is very disagreeable. Really, I don’t think I have enough time to do so. The only other heated issue would be the power plant. It is still being fought. What I do find interesting is for once there is a decent debate going on in VoyForums on the power plant. Ed with his facts, and Mike just trying to keep it simple. I’m enjoying reading their comments as they slip in a little sarcasm here and there. Good luck Mike, Ed has a bunch of facts over you.
