You forgot to mention the Grinder Pump issue on Forest Park Rd. You know the one where 17 residents who are mostly elderly and retired. Who have Lived there since Forest Park rd opened. The ones that supported and payed taxes to the town of Dracut for nearly 37 years and are now faced with an issue from the Sewer Dept. They will be given a grinder pump to hitch up to the sewer (after being told for years there would be a Gravity pump behind 245 Forest Park Rd) but now they are lucky they will get this beautiful grinder pump - they will have to pay to have it installed and then maintain it when it breaks down. Then when it finally goes they are lucky they get to purchase the next one and do it all over again. Don't worry the sewer dept has assured us that the pump is guaranteed for 2 years (if outside in your ground) and better yet 5 years if you put it in your house. The company that manufactures them said at the sewer meeting they wouldn't recomend this as after awhile you will smell the sewerage. So lets go back to 2 yrs guarantee.
I'd said they must be pretty lucky - they get to pay the sewer fee like everyone plus those extra costs.
The Sewer dept must think they are extra special people because they are many are in their 70's and 60's. And if your young living there you still lucky you have a family to raise and get that extra bonus to take care of - a grinder pump!
No I feel that all of that is the Sewer dept. problem. If they can afford to install a gravity pump for others and maintain and them then they are turning their backs on these people of Forest Park rd. Forest Park rd. should have a gravity pump like other areas and if not then the sewr dept. should pay for installation and maintain them. After all those residents have to pay the electricity every month to run their water now to the pump....and forget it if your electricity goes down in a storm. if Your tank was close to being filled you may just have to go down to McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts to use their bathrooms.
Lets stick together as neighbors (no matter what part of Dracut you are from) on this one and fight this injustice.
