As my son was growing up I found it hard finding good sitters. I was a single parent and had to work.
Finally my mom quit her job and sat for me. I was lucky.
So I know what you are saying.
I know that people have gotten on me because I am an advocate of the elderly but I feel for them. I am almost fifty and My son is 23. I know what its like to feel your not needed anymore after years of caring. Its hard.
When I think back of my mom caring for my son she became alive again. She would help him with his homework, play ball ,read to him. She loved it.
So this is where I am going with this suggestion.
I am not suggesting babies (since they go to day care all day) but older children as your daughter who still needs to be watched but not as closely. Is it possible to work with the Elderly Center to recruit Care takers? They could use the elderly hall or perhaps in their home. It would mean a growing experience for both.
