Well, if the tone of my posts were that of an outspoken advocate for various issues, I would see your point more clearly. Most of what I write is very much beside the point and meant to skew perspective, not to beat the drum one way or the other. If I were extolling the virtues of one issue or seriously contesting another, my identity would certainly aid in determining my dog in the fight.

But, I'm not here to fight. I'm here to laugh and perhaps bring out some ironies of the human condition. You have to admit Dracut politics affords me an infinite array of possibilities. So, I take advantage of them.

I am grateful to be accused of being Dennis Shaughnessey. My understanding is that he makes his living writing and whereas I don't, I see that as a favorable review I'm not sure I'm deserving of. (especially when I end a sentence with a preposition!) But, to clear that up, Dennis is a moderator on this board, I have voiced the opinion that it not be moderated. Unless you believe Dennis would risk his reputation for the sake of a community web site, one must conclude that he and I are not the same, naturally!

Finally, I stay in the closet for now because I have a relative who works for the town. I don't flatter myself by speculating that anything I write would be so important to cause that person grief. Then again, I don't really know everyone involved so I'm not sure how thick everyone's skin is as yet.

My "coming-out" would be very anti-climactic. I am not well known, have never served on any board or committee, have never ran for anything. The extent of my public involvement, if you can even call it that, has been on this board.

Beyond that, I have an eye for the lighter side and the only qualification for someone to be targeted by my poison pixel is that they breathe..
