Subject: Here is my opinion, not that it is worth all that much though!

First of all, no pageants are going to be able to please everyone. We have all been on the losing side and noone likes it. No child is perfect, or is going to be perfect on stage everytime. Beauty pageants are simply opinions of the judges that judge that particular day. Not every single thing that someone does that is against the rules will be caught. Nails are a very hard thing to notice on stage and really pretty petty to complain about, I guarantee that it did not make the child win. There are going to be complainers and people unhappy with every outcome, been there done that! Be happy when you get score sheets, I usually cannot get Kaylie's so we don't know where they marked her down. If you don't like vendors don't use them. It is fine to say that you don't like their work, but you don't have to be mean and make someone feel bad about themselves. As far as photos, I have a couple that we use because Kaylie works well with them, the ones that we don't use is because she doesn't photograph as well with them or just haven't had the chance to use them. Everyone's opinion is different. I do however want to know if someone is scamming others, I will not use them! Let's just be helpful and realize that the directors have a very hard job. I have recently thought about being a state director for a system but I would not want to be torn apart by others. Realize that by acting this way you are preventing other systems from wanting to come to Michigan. We have a good group in Michigan let's keep it that way! Thanks for letting me vent! And yes I will sign my name! Shannon Shepard

I agree with Shannon. My daughter just started doing pageants this year. We have learned alot in a short amount of time. My daughter has grown alot this year and has enjoyed everyone of the pageants she has done. We have made some good friends. We know we can't win all of the pageants and the more we learn the better we will do. My daughter did do a talent at SS and she didn't place, but she did do her best and thats all I can ask from her. Like Shannon said different day different judge. I too am not afraid to list my name.

Pageants are a fun hobby for me dmy girls - to me its about having fun, not how expensive the clothes are, not who did your hair and make up, how well coached you are. Sometimes we win, sometimes we loose. And yes, there are times when I may be upset about something, but I don't say anything in front of my children nor to I come on here and complain and bash. I go home and I get over it and we try to do better the next time.

I always praise my daughters on how well they did. I am teaching them that the main thing is that they have fun.

I am not afraid to sign my name either. Kim Sytsma

yes and everyone knows who I am by just saying Amaya, she is my grandaughter, and I think Teri put on A great pageant, her husband was so sweet he took Amaya over to the crowns and gifts and kept her entertained while Teri checked her cd's and explained everything to me.
Oh yea Amaya had on clear fingernail polish and she won mini, so the nail business is out, judges dont look at girls and say, "Ahh pretty nails she gets 100"
And judges dont just look at the outfit, they look at everything as A whole, and everyone I mean everyone has A routine, Ive seen them all, even tiny ones have simple routines, so to say not judged on routine then maybe everyone should just stand in one spot at the next pageant, that doesnt sound like A pageant at all but A staring contest!
