He simply held her, not saying anything, just running his hand up and down her back soothingly. A low breath escaped his lips as he frowned a little at her pain but soon he finally felt her cry herself to sleep. Instead of moving, though, he just reached down and hit the button to turn the edge of the sofa into a recliner. He shifted her in his arms and reclined his own seat so that he could comfortably close his eyes while still holding her. Within a few minutes he was asleep with her napping in his arms. They hadn't really talked a whole lot but he felt like they had overcome so serious walls even without a whole lot of words. It was good for the both of them to get some rest and regain their emotional barrings.
