(He was right.. she might look like nothing more than a child, and at times acted like that.. but the woman that clung to him was seeking the adult comfort that he was offering her. A sob tore from her throat as she wound her arms around his neck, burying her face against his chest and crying for what she had lost. He was offering her friendship, support, strength and a future.. and she was helpless to refuse those things that she craved most in the world. When he sat, she shifted closer to him and let him hold her as her body trembled with pain. A long time passed as she sobbed against him, her hand fisting into his shirt at the back of his neck and her small body pressed to his. The tears did subside as she wore herself out and before long she had slipped into a dreamless sleep, brought on from the fact that she felt safe enough with him to cry herself into sleep. It had been a while since she had been able to sleep without waking every fifteen minutes in a scared sweat, her dreams of Keegan haunting her almost as much as being alone had.)
