With miss America being so close if they don't look amazing in swim suit I don't think they will make it in the top ten. Jodee Hickman will be someone to watch. She has a great body and she plays the viola very well. Connie will do well, she is a runner so she will look fantastic and her vocals are always incredible. I've seen her interview and when she hits it, she knocks it out of the park. Lizzie has personality bursting out the seems much to rival kimballs. Tamara isn't in the best shape but her talent routine could win. As for winners the trend for miss America is timeless and classic. With that being said I think it's between Janae, Megan, and Catherine. While I'm not a huge fan of Catherine ( she lacks stage presence to me except in talent). At least that is who we should send to America if we have any shot this year. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |

There were a couple of girls at Arrival who definitely do not appear to be swimsuit ready. Is it still possible to win state overweight? Have we ever had a Miss Wa or Miss America who won their titles overweight? Quite curious on this topic. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Not being in tip-top pageant shape doesn't make a girl overweight. I've competed for years and am often told I'm too skinny for someone my height when I'm in "pageant shape" but am still one of the biggest girls on the stage. Girls still wind up starving themselves and living on laxatives to look like they do on stage. Casually saying a few of them look "overweight" when they're completely normal young women but don't necessarily stack up to girls who are naturally very thin (like Reina) can be very detrimental to a competitors psyche and can cause severe eating disorders, especially in girls who have struggled with them in the past. There are many not in swimsuit pageant shape. Its really that simple. And that is also a matter of opinion. Thank goodness you are out of the pageant system since this was such a struggle for you.
