The best advice I can give you and this is from a parent whos child began at 6 (with no previous rodeo exerience)is to first find yourself a dead broke proven rodeo horse that is willing to step back but has the tools to move foward...I MEAN DEAD BROKE . Once that is accomplised then join SJRA....the children in this association understand competition but they excell in fellowship. Third piece of advice is to set small goals and enjoy the successes of acomplishing them. Lastly find a great trainer in your area work hard and watch what happens next....At 6 it is a marathon not a sprint so be patient and enjoy the ride.
