Subject: Brazilian Election

The upcoming election has shown the true side of the democratic process. The verbal attacks on the current Brazilian President's involvements in corruption are doing little to hurt his campaign for re-election.

President de Silva is being accused of illegally funding his campaign, yet with these negative thoughts, the good that he has achieved seems to be triumphant in the polls. During his term in office, there has been a boost in the economy that has not been seen before in Brazil. His reform to help support the poor that make fewer than sixty dollars a month is a success.

There are those people that say he may have lied in the office so he should not be re-elected, but these people are amongst the minority. They attack his plans that he has put in action and question what he does. If the laws he passes anger the other parties, they would not allow them to pass because they are the majority in their Congress. Due to the claims of corruption in the party, many high members of the Workers Party have resigned. Even if he is proven guilty of illegally funding his campaign, now-a-days there is corruption everywhere and it cannot be one man alone that achieves this.

It comes down to the fact that even with these accusations, the people do not feel he is to blame and they overwhelmingly support the re-election of de Silva. The October 1st election will truly show if the people feel their President is a guilty man, or if they forgive him and look toward a future of a better economy.
