Dear Editor,
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has been involved in many scandals but these seem to have no effect on his presidency. In the end he is always the man on top. He began on the “ropes” towards the end of his presidency. But now with the Brazilian’s voting on October 1, da Silva is likely to have a re-election victory. A big factor in him being successful throughout the mishaps of these scandals was his support from the country’s poor. They can solemnly relate to his upbringing and rough times in his childhood. They proclaim that, “He’s the first president with the soul of the people, who looks like us.”
But I do not believe a president should be re-elected to anther term if he is involved in so many scandals. And still the recent polls are estimating that da Silva will receive about 50% of the votes. Having been involved in so many scandals you may not know what’s going to happen next.
