Dear Carlos,

I understand that the two candidates running for President of Brazil are questionable but they may not have to be "bad options." Yes, President Luiz da Silva has been involved in many scandals. But, I believe, you also have to look at how much good he has done for your country during his last term as president. He made welfare programs to help the poor, helped with the electrification systems, and installed water storage tanks around Brazil. The popular vote (more than 50%) is with da Silva for a reason: the people of Brazil trust him. They have seen his accomplishments and they are willing to see more accomplishments despite some scandals that happened years ago. Corruption occurs everywhere - in all governments. But if the good outweighs the bad then, I believe, that is better for a country.

Sincerely,
Fatima Younus
