I agree with everything you have said. If there is abuse going on, it is obviously important to get out of the situation and out of the house as soon as possible. Otherwise, like you said, it is important to get your parents’ blessing. Because parents are bound to be worried, it is good to sit down with them and show them that you actually have a plan. This could help put their minds at ease. Assure them that you will keep in frequent contact, and that you won’t just be cutting yourself out of their lives. Nobody wants to leave their home on a bad note, because it could damage their relationship with their family for a long time.
