It depends on the parents. If you feel they would sabotage your attempt, for instance, you should tell them you're moving out AFTER you did or WHILE you do it to prevent sabotaging on their part on the run-up for the moving out. If your parents are normal ones, though, you should simply inform them, maybe by doing something nice like fixing dinner for them and celebrating your emancipation. Remind them that you have the means to live by yourself (if you do; if you don't, don't move out unless your parents are abusive) and tell them their "child" has grown and will be okay. Ask for their blessings, and take the first step into the real world.
