I'll have to agree to the point that people are looking to lose weight in vast numbers. Truth be told, there is no fast or easy way to lose weight, at least a way that is healthy.

However, your idea of weight loss seems misinformed by the description of "steps." Unless you are really eating 3000+ calories a day, there shouldn't be a need to cut down on food or calorie intake. Instead, your intake should be split across the day, eating a small meal every 3 or so hours. It may seem like a hassle, but after two weeks or so, you will get hungry in less than two hours, proof that your metabolism is working. Also, there are many different forms of calories, some healthier than others. You should never eliminate fat (eliminate trans fat however), but minimize it instead. Eat simple carbs (sugar) only before or after workouts, and try to eat complex carbs (wheat) during most of the day, because simple carbs are processed at a very fast rate in your body, and if they aren't used up, they are stored. Any meal past 8 PM should consist of mostly lean meat, as protein is burned very slowly by the body and will not be stored into fat during sleep, unlike carbs. This adjustment in food should actually be enough to start losing weight, even without a work out, because it avoids muscle loss due to the fact that you are eating on a constant basis. In terms of workouts, don't feel obligated, and never overwork yourself. An hour a day a few times a week should be plenty.

Never starve yourself, it causes your body to eat muscle. Throwing up food destroys your esophagus. Any "miracle" weight loss program is a fraud and can lead to major health problems.

I have to agree with Cristiano in the fact that having confidence and a smile will make people overlook your physical appearance. They won't have time to analyze your looks when they are too busy laughing and having fun.
