my 2 yr baby was sitting on the floor playing with our German Shepard,he jumped up and bit her,he held her by the arm until I came in and called his name.He did leave puncture wounds and a bruise.Is he vicious?No.He does not like strangers and he will protect his family.And in our state he was fully protected because she didn't knock.Another example,my oldest son grabbed my littlest by the arms an started swinging him around,he was screaming,our chow bit the oldest in the back and made him let go.Left a scratch.Was he vicious?No.Did he really hurt my son?No.Did he deserve to put put down?No way.We had him for 16 more years with no more bites.The only dogs that should be put down are those that viciously attack for no reason.People use gaurd dogs because they'd rather not have a gun.Are those dogs vicious?Yep,but they have a job to do,if you break into my home I hope you get torn apart and my dog was doing his job.I think you should judge the cercumstances along with the dog and owner.
