I don't think anyone is saying that its oversensitive, just that we're to the point where you're careful to even say Merry Christmas. That's different - even when I was a child, shop keepers and strangers would say "Merry Christmas!" Now, you dare not do that. As a teacher, I have taught in schools that no longer let the kids celebrate any type of holiday for fear of offending someone. Yes, that's oversensitive not to mention sad for the kids.
