Subject: stingrays and red algae

the previous message has scared me about the beaches on
Sanibel. We are staying on Sanibel and I hope this red algae is not there at the end of June. Also what are some tips on how to avoid the stingrays. My dad was stung by a sting ray in sanibel years ago and had to go to the hospital. I just want to enjoy my vacation and the beaches. Can anyone at Sanibel today tell me anything about the water?
