Subject: Readers The Minorities In Darkness?
In reply to: Comicality 's message, "Dark Question For 7/31" on Thu July 31, 2008 14:56:46

While reading and rereading GFD I have tried to think about the story on different levels. And while one could make the argument that any Halflife character could represent the plight of gays in America I have always felt that Readers where the true minorities of darkness. And I find that some of the opinions are eerily similar to what heterosexuals think of gay society. I have many straight male friends and the general consensus among them is that gay men are out to turn them. That all gay men want nothing more than to become their friends and are just waiting for the right moment to pounce. While I know this to be the case with some gay men its not the case with all gay men in general. Now those attitudes seem so close to what most other vampires think of readers, "they are only out for one thing". And if you get to close whether you like them or not they will wait till the right moment to rape you of your extras. Its funny how art mirrors true life.
