Subject: Dark Question For 8/11

The vampire term for them, at the moment, is 'Hemoslug'.

Daylight has its scholars...why wouldn't the darkness?

In an attempt to cut down on the forced hunting of human beings, and feed the rapidly growing population of vampires (An increase always happens in times of distress, war, poverty, etc)...vampires have genetically altered humans from birth to be 'food' for anyone looking to purchase them. They are engorged with blood, enough to feed two or three vampires for a little over a year, if taken care of properly.

If this brand new technology is accepted by the Elders, and its use becomes more widespread...vampires might be able to buy them as 'livestock', and not have to hunt NEARLY as much as before. Securing a dependable food source, cutting down on the risk of exposure, perhaps reducing the mental strain of the act of murder itself.

However...these creatures are taken at birth. Never taught to walk, or speak. They are forced to grow to extreme sizes, reaching 700 to 800 pounds. And they are milked repeatedly for their blood supply, until they finally die off and can't provide any more sustenance for their parasitic owners. Make no mistake...while they're doing a great service by providing blood for hungry vampires...they ARE human! These are actual 'people' we're talking about. And this is one of those cases where the cure may be even more ghastly than the disease itself.

If given a choice to sit on the council of Elders, and make a decision on whether or not this practice is made legal in the realm of darkness...what would your decision be? And what happens when the humans discover that we've made 'cattle' out of their kind?
