In reply to: Trevin Lindsey 's message, "I don't really care how many cars are "gearing up to race" 9 inch......I'm more concerned about the ones that ACTUALY show up to the track to RACE 9 inch.....not talk about it.... or....hope to do it someday....or ...building a car for later in the year......or next year...yada yada yada........there are several cars in the dfw area that could and probably would race 9 inch if the rules would allow them to. If we CONSISTANTLY have 16 cars the purse will go up.......but guys with non running cars CAN'T make that happen.....guys with RUNNING cars can.....and MY personal opinion on this is......LET THEM IN!!!" on 13:05:41 06/06/08 Fri

MAYBE THAT IS THE PROBLEM. "YOU DONT CARE" MAYBE INSTEAD OF CHANGING THE RULES ALL THE TIME YOU SHOULD ENFORCE THE ONES THAT PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT. GO INTO THE PARTS STORE AT THE TRACK AND THE RULES ARE THE SAME AS THEY WERE TWO YEARS AGO. HOW ABOUT RUNNING THIS CLASS AND KEEPING RACERS UPDATED TO RULE CHANGES INSTEAD OF THINKING OF NEW RULES TO FIT ONE MORE CAR. WHAT HAPPENED TO ALL THE CARS THAT WERE THERE THE FIRST YEAR, DID THEY GET TIRED OF NOT BEING COMPETITIVE OR JUST ALL THE RULE CHANGES. AND AS FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ARE "GEARING UP" FOR THE 9 INCH WHAT DO THEY NEED TO BUILD, THE RULES CHANGE SO OFTEN YOU WILL NEVER FINISH THE CAR. YOU SAID IT YOURSELF YOU HAVE NOT HAD A FULL CAR FIELD SINCE THE FIRST YEAR.

Terry.....the class was set up around the "little guy"....the major problem with that idea is that APPARENTLY THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH LITTLE GUYS TO MAKE A FULL FIELD ANYMORE!!!!........little guys are little guys for a reason.....because they don't have the disposable income to race at the higher levels....although unfortunate that is REALITY.....with that being said.....3 years ago when this class was set up there were more "little guys" that could AFFORD to do it......with the economic turns that have taken place and the price of fuel the way that it is fewer and fewer "little guys" can even afford to come and WATCH the races much less participate....so what is the class supposed to do.....founder with small car counts and die out....or open it up and insure the survival of the the class?? How can you possibly expect the 9 inch madness to be "loyal" to the little guys when the little guys are either unwilling or unable to afford to participate???
