Subject: REGISTRATION OF COMPETITIONS WITH AN COIMISIÚN

6.1.1 Dancing competitions must normally be registered with An Coimisiún before

(a) a person currently registered with An Coimisiún as an Adjudicator (ADCRG) may officiate as judge and

(b) a person currently registered with An Coimisiún as a Dancing Teacher of any category my enter pupils.

6.1.2 In order that competitions may be registered, organisers must make application to An Coimisiún accordingly and be prepared to comply with certain conditions relating to, inter alia,

(a) content, preparation and distribution of the programme of competitions;

(b) systém and standard of organisation of the competitions;

(c) type, quantity and quality of prizes to be awarded;

(d) provision of information to An Coimisiún in regard to the competitions.

The systém of registration of competitions and the Rules which must be complied with by competition

Organisers are set out in Rules 6.2.1 to 24.1.1 below.

6.2.1 Application for the registration of competitions must be made by the organisers in such manner as An Coimisiún may from time to time direct.

6.2.2 An Coimisiún may issue guidelines as required which shall be binding on the persons or groups
Concerned. These guidelines may relate to

(a) The systém of registration of competitions;

(b) the fees payable for registration of competitions;

(c) the level of difficulty of steps permitted in lower-grade competititons;

(d) types of steps not permitted in any grade or dance or not allowed in certain grades and dances;

(e) music speeds permitted;

(f) competitions which must be included in all competition syllabi;

(g) types of footwear permitted or forbidden;

(h) types of costume and ornamentation allowed or forbidden;

(i) movements in céilí dances and how they may be performed in competitions;

(j) any other matter or aspect An Coimisiún may consider desirable.

6.2.3 The application for registration must be accompanied by

(a) a draft programme of the competitions;

(b) a draft of the subsidiary rules and the conditions of entry the organisers wish to implement;

(c) a schedule of the entry fees to be paid by competitors;

(d) the registration fee decided by An Coimisiún. Where an application for registration is rejected this fee will be refunded.

6.3.1 An Coimisiún or its representatives shall certify that competitions are registered by the issue of a
Certificate or Registration, which Certificate must be publicly displayed in the venus of competitions.

6.4.1 An Coimisiún or its representatives shall have authority to refuse any application for registration of competitions or, where such registration has already been granted, to cancel it at any time.
