Subject: SYLLABI OF COMPETITIONS

7.1.1 Organisers must implement any amendment to a programme of competitions, subsidiary rules, conditions of entry or entry fees that An Coimisiún shall direct.

7.1.2 No person may amend a programme of competitions, subsidiary rules or conditions of entry or may increase entry fees following their sanction by An Coimisiún unless the authorisation of An Coimisiún for such amendment is obtained in advance.

7.2.1 At least 10% of the competitions on a syllabus must be Céilí dancing competititons to be performed in accordance with „Ar Rinncidhe Foirne“.

7.2.2 In the case of a team competition all dances must be performed in accordance with „Ar Rinncidhe Foirne“ unless the syllabus indicates otherwise.

7.3.1 Organisers must make provision for senior dancers by including on every syllabus both solo and team competitions with a minimum age limit of not less than 16 years.

7.4.1 The phrase „Cláraithe leis an Choimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha“ must be inserted in a prominent position in every syllabus od competitions (to indicate that the competititons are registered with An Coimisiún). The phrase must be inserted in full – the use of abbreviations such as initials will not suffice for this purpose.

7.4.2 In the case of competitions in Ireland at least the title(s) of the dance or dances for each competition on the syllabus must be in Irish. It is strongly recommended, however, that syllabi be entirely in Irish.

7.5.1 Organiser must insert on the syllabus the name or names of the adjudicator or adjudicators engaged to
judge.

7.6.1 A syllabus of competitions must not be published or distributed until the Certificate of Registration has been received from An Coimisiún.

7.6.2 In the case of competitions open to a Region, or to an area greater than a Region, the organisers must send a copy of syllabus to every registered teacher in at least the Region in which the competititons are being held, in adequate time to permit entries to be made.

7.6.3 In the case of competititons confined to a specified area within a Region, the organisers must send a copy of the syllabus to every registered teacher in at least the area to which the competitions are confined in adequate timed to permit entries to be made.

7.6.4 Organisers must send one copy of the syllabus as published to the Secretary of An Coimisiún immediately copies are available.

7.6.5 Organisers must confine Bun-ghrád (Beginners) Tús-ghrád (Primary Grade) and Meán-ghrád (Non-
Prizewinners) competitions in accordance with Rules 12.1.1., 13.1.1. and 14.1.1. below.
