Hi Ellen -

I think my biggest concern here is if you smoke 1 per hour until 3:00, you will likely have cravings (maybe really bad ones) for the rest of the day. Maybe you can start off with one cig. in the morning, and one in the afternoon before 3:00, and see how it goes for a week or so, and then increase it from there. But even then, going up to seven a day will likely mean you're "hooked", and quitting will be difficult.

Also, I remember from previous posts that you had problems smoking both inside the house (bcs your parents would know since they only smoke outside) and outside (bcs your neighbors will see you). How did/will you resolve that?

Just as an FYI, I came clean with my parents about my smoking, and it was the BEST thing I ever did. They were very upset for a week or so, but now I enjoy smoking with them daily. It's tough to take that first step, but it takes all of the pressure off afterwards.

You can tell your Mom or Dad (whoever you're more comfortable with) that lots of kids are smoking at parties, etc. now, and you're inevitably going to try smoking, and you'd like to have her/him teach you because it's a more comfortable environment than starting to learn in front of a group of friends (you can say that even though they may not know that you've been smoking already).

Good luck.

Linda
