Have you though about approaching your parents at all? They just might surprise you. As you may have read in some of my posts, my mom is pretty strict and old fashioned as well, but she eventually has come around (even though I am sure she prefers I still didn't smoke, she respects my decision).

I will admit, it is nice being able to light up a cigarette while babysitting sometimes. Although the kids have been good overall, they can drive you nuts at times and a cigarette can really help me relax in situations like that.

One of these days you will be able to smoke while babysitting or just smoke in general with your parents respecting your decision. Keep your head up, Kate. :)
