Meaning of Namaste: Namast� or Namaskar (नमस्ते [nʌmʌsˈteː] in Nepali and Hindi (from internal sandhi between namaḥ and te) is an Indian greeting or parting phrase as well as a gesture. Taken literally, it means "I bow to you". The word is derived from Sanskrit (namas): to bow, obeisance, reverential salutation, and (te): "to you". When spoken to another person, it is commonly accompanied by a slight bow made with hands pressed together, palms touching and fingers pointed upwards, in front of the chest. The gesture can also be performed wordlessly and carry the same meaning.

Femina Miss India World 2007: Sarah-Jane Dias was the contestant No. 18 in the Miss India 2007 contest. In the final round, the winning question put to the five finalists was "If you had to convince a rural woman to participate in the Miss India contest, how would you do it?" The winning answer from Sarah-Jane Dias was "I would first remind her that she has every right to such privileges as a Miss India would have. If she wins she could go back to her village and the improvement she would bring about would make the achievement of the pageant irreplaceable." In Mumbai, Sarah-Jane Dias was trained in modelling by Atul Kelkar. At the age of 21, she won a TV talent hunt contest, which gave her a chance to host a Channel [V] show. She was first noticed as a guest on On the Run, a Channel [V] travel show, and later became the host of Get Gorgeous, a supermodel hunt on Channel [V]. In the crossover movie Brides Wanted (2006), Sarah-Jane Dias played the groom's best friend who helps him in his bride hunt. In 2006, she also featured in the video of Australian rock group INXS's Never Let You Go from the album Switch.

Femina Miss India Universe 2007: Puja Gupta dazzled at the Miss Universe 2007 pageant and despite all odds managed to break into the prestigious Top 10 of Miss Universe 2007 Pageant.

Femina Miss India Earth 2007: Pooja Chitgopekar lives in New Zealand. She is doing her MBBS from University of Auckland. Earlier, Pooja won Miss India New Zealand 2002. She was the first runner up in Miss India Worldwide 2003 and Miss Auckland 2002. She worked as a ramp model for New Zealand fashion week. She came to participate in Miss India beauty contest because she believes that Femina Miss India would help her express her opinions. Singer Adnan Sami's question - 'What is the one invention that has changed the face of the world?' - Pooja Chitgopekar's reply was: 'Electricity, as it has brought the industrial revolution. Today we depend on electricity for everything."

Alien abduction - investigation of memories of alien abduction or similar events

Memories of events that may be interpreted as alien abduction are quite common. Some may be from real abduction by non-human beings coming in strange flying vehicles.

Extended mandatory well-child examination under anesthesia:

In certain areas the health authorities has begun to subject children and teens to extended well-child physicals where one performs several or all of the following procedures: inspections with optical scopes through all or several body openings,ultrasound examinations of most body structures, x-ray taking of joints, EEG and EKG. The kid is often given sedation or even general anesthesia during these extended physicals to make the kid cooperative and to hinder him or her from remembering. Still the kid will remember a lot of details around the procedures and sometimes also from the procedures themselves, because anesthesia never works perfectly, and the kid will always have some symptoms afterwards that tell a lot of what has been done. This poll has the aim of investigating experiences from such ordeals.

In some comunities a cystoscopy seem to be a mandatory exam at some ages of children and teens. These communities are probably not many yet, but this type of exam seem to increase in frequency, both for special purposes and for mandatory or recomended screening. Called in for a strange physical or psycological exam:

Children, teens and adults are sometimes called in to undergo medical exams and procedures they do not know they need. Often these exams are very extensive with endoscopic inspections through body openings, ex-ray and ultrasound of several body areas, testing with electronic equipment and a lot more. Often the person is given anesthesia to be unconscious during all or parts of the procedure. I finally land in Poland. I get my suitcases and am walking out of the terminal but do not see my ride. I manage to find someone that kind of speaks English so I can call the pageant directors to let them know I've arrived (I would compare their English skills to a 5 year old still learning his ABC's!) because apparently they do not teach them English there in school and if they do it's a remedial English class.

The ride from Warsaw Airport and Lodz is about a 2 hour drive and they only have 1 or 2 highways! let me explain a little Polish history: In 1989 Poland gained their independence from the Revolutions of 1989 which overthrew communism. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poland)You would think they would have built more than a couple of highways in the past 23 years right? Wrong! I beg to differ on the last section of the Wikipedia article about Poland "Despite the vast destruction the country experienced in World War II, Poland managed to preserve much of its cultural wealth. Since the end of the communist period, Poland has achieved a "very high" ranking in terms of human development[8] and standard of living.[9]" In terms of what? the person who wrote this article should have taken into consideration the fact that until this day Poland is futile and that their standard of living is poor. Preserving a country's culture does NOT mean being ignorant and unwilling to learn ways in which to better ones country.

August 15 (nighttime)- I get to the first hotel and it's a disaster! the room smelled like mold and mildew, I brush this off and hope that we don't stay there for long. I run into my girlfriend, Hannah (Miss England) and was immediately relieved to see her (we met through a mutual friend a few years back and the odds of us being in the same pageant- 6,000 miles away- without talking to each other beforehand is slim to none! what a very very small world!

August 16- I had my swimsuit/evening dress photoshoot and lounged around because everyone left for the day for the usual media tour and finale rehearsals. The photographers were so sweet and compassionate towards me� probably the only few people left in Poland without an anti-semitic bone in their bodies.

August 17- I am up by 6am getting dressed, getting into full hair and makeup, putting on heels and a big smile. I go downstairs to the meeting area and I see hannah and we decide that at our next hotel we should room together. we go on our typical media tour and rehearsals.

August 18th- today we are switching hotels and going back to Warsaw... It is not far from Lod which is where my grandma is from.
I was promised to meet with the consul from the Israeli embassy in Poland� but that never happened! this is just the beginning of a number of lies from the MSO.

August 19th- I am not doing very well here in Poland last night I had an incident at Warsaw-- we were doing charity work standing outside asking people to donate money. I was grouped with Miss Canada and Miss Togo since they both speak English. We were doing really well until some idiot decided to verbally attack me.
He started by looking at Canada's sash and saying "very nice" then he looked at Togo's and said "nice" then he looked at me and saw that I was from Israel and said "you Israel? I hate Israel and I hate you Jews". he kept repeating it over and over again while ferociously walking around me as if he was going to attack me! I quickly walked away and went inside leaving Miss Canada and Togo outside (they were probably just as stunned as I was).
I sat down for a good 2-3 minutes and tried to collect myself. I went back outside thinking I would be ok but as soon as miss canada hugged me I broke down and started crying hysterical! I really feel disrespected here in Europe... I am not enjoying myself in the least! I wanted to have a good experience from this trip because how many times will I have the chance to come back to the country my ancestry is from? it just really hurts me and to be honest I didn't want to stay.
EVERY TIME I wore my sash I got snarled at and people just looked at me with hate! needless to say the MSO didn't do much of anything
I can't believe how many anti-Semitic people I'm surrounded by!!! it's sickening what people say about Israel and Jews... ignoramus! I will for sure blog about this later as I have a lot on my chest
YOU TRY REPRESENTING ISRAEL, A COUNTRY WHICH GAINED IT'S RIGHT TO EXIST JUST 3 YEARS AFTER POLAND AND GERMANY ALONG WITH OTHER NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES, PERSECUTED 6 MILLION JEWS IN THE HOLOCAUST� WITHOUT EXPERIENCING HATRED THAT STILL EXISTS IN BOTH COUNTRIES!
August 20th-25th: rehearsals the entire 5 days� I was originally placed at the end of our gown segment, which meant I would leave the stage last in my ball gown. However, the MSO replaced me because they thought I would do something to ruin their production. Honestly, I might not care for the MSO but I would NEVER do anything that would disrespect or present Israel and myself in a negative light.

Then to add fuel to my already burning fire the MSO organizers call me in for a private meeting and insist I change my national costume! they claim that my national costume was too revealing. Meanwhile, many other countries had a more revealing costume than mine!. I told them to back off and that there is NO WAY they are touching my costume and if they tried to I would leave.

Those five days were brutal. The chaperones were immature and unprofessional! there were multiple occasions where they wouldn't let us use the restroom and didn't supply the girls with enough water! one incident I encountered was with one of the younger chaperones (still in high school?). I was standing waiting for the restroom and she comes by and tries to get me to go on the bus and I told her I'm waiting to use the restroom. Seeing as how she is extremely young and immature she knocks on the bathroom door and runs away. The girl in the bathroom opens the door and I realize it's Miss Supranational 2010. She gives me a weird look so I apologize and proceed to tell her that it wasn't me that knocked.

August 26th- my flight back home was great! upon my return the MSO emails me about paying half of my flight. This was initially discussed however upon returning back home and speaking to my manager, he advised that I shouldn't pay them back based on their lack of respect towards me.
I hereby crown the MSO organization as Miss Super Unprofessional 2011!
any positive experiences? yes!! meeting a few wonderful girls that I've kept in touch with until this day...

Amy cites that the candidates were being subjected to 3 to 4 hours of sleep, to poor nutrition, to freezing temperatures without proper attire, to minimal security, and to poor medical care. She also wrote that one of the organizers, Jerome Too was rude to her and told her that vegetarian girls like herself would not be allowed to compete next year. The organizers even attempted to persuade her to take down her blog and also gave her the option to maintain her blog - but on the condition that she retract her statements. Holbrook decided to keep her blog as it is, citing freedom of expression. Global Beauties, which covers the pageant, published a comment written by its correspondent Thiago Castro in which Castro denounces Amy and calls her statements "baseless." Castro also posted an "official statement" from MTQI organizers that was supposedly sent to all the national directors: "We would like to inform you that Miss America's allegations and claims are not true and baseless. We'd like to say that this event is organized by the Henan Government and Henan TV station and their expectations are high for the contest as well as the contestants. They have spent millions in US$ in terms of round-trip fare for the candidates to come to their respective countries, international journalists as well their local journalists which include hotel stays and food and beverages. The China organizers have done their best to make all welcome both contestants and the 120 journalists from the international and national press that are currently with us. This event is high publicized. We provide sufficient and top grade meals for all contestants. We have big buffets spreads which consist of good food and in her case, plenty of vegetables, salads, fruits and soya based food. We do not feed bugs, dogs, cats and "Fear Factor" meals to our guests, journalists and contestants. There are sufficient security provide by both police and army. Last year alone, they activated 10,000 security personnel for the pageant. However sometimes there are occasional overzealous locals who tend to pull the contestants to snap photos with but usually this contestant who are being "harassed" will be ushered away by the chaperones. We have a trained doctor, paramedics and the ambulance are with us at all times during activities that the candidates are involved in. Should they be sick, they are immediately attended to. Other issues about phones cards of which this can be purchased at hotel concierge or gift stores. This will include feminine products as well. If the hotel do not have any available, they can approach the chaperones who will get the hotel to purchase for them on their behalf. Many of you have worked with us over the years and you know we are very strict and look after your girls well so we do not allow such things to happen. I just searched for "miss tourism queen," "miss tourism queen international," "miss tourism," and "mtqi" in the News section of Yahoo and Google and I didn't see any links to a coverage in English, Spanish, Portuguese or French - languages spoken by over a billion people. Global Beauties is the only pageant site that offers full coverage; the other sites could care less. Notice, too, how the writer admits to a lapse in security while referring to "occasional overzealous locals who tend to pull the contestants to snap photos." Sufficient security does not always translate to guaranteed security, as the contestants could get hurt especially if they were pulled aggressively. Imagine international athletes being treated like this when they come to China for the Summer 2008 Olympics. And why is there only one "trained doctor?" In her blog, Amy describes the substandard conditions in a local hospital to which she was taken after she had experienced stomach ache. It seems that there was not even one good doctor to examine a patient suffering from a simple stomach ache that, according to Amy, was caused "by lack of sleep and food poisoning." MTQI WORLD CLASS HOSPITAL... THE MTQI STANDARD What I'd like to know is who exactly wrote the so-called "official statement" from MTQI. Notice how the statement starts with the collective "We" and ends with a singular "I." Why weren't the names of the MTQI organizers Jerome Too and Alex Liu mentioned in the statement? And more importantly, why is the statement not even posted in the official MTQI website? The statement ends with a reference to an attachment - a letter supposedly written by Ann See, the widow of MTQI founder Charlie See. Reliable sources informed me that nearly twenty candidates also wanted to leave, but that their passports were being held by the organizers. It would be interesting to see new stories come out once the pageant is over on April 10th, that is if all the girls (except the winner and runners-up) get to leave safely! MY THOUGHTS ON MISS WORLD 2011 : It was the first-ever Miss World pageant that I have ever attended. I had promised myself that I would suspend all judgment and comparison with Miss Universe until after I have watched the pageant, and now that it's over, I can honestly and boldly say that the Miss World pageant has lagged way far behind Miss Universe in the areas of telecast, production, script-writing, and interest (or lack thereof). I didn't feel the same level of excitement inside Earls Court Two stadium as I felt inside the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on August 23, 2010. At Miss World, I found myself mostly bored, and the only way I could break moments of ennui was to take random photos or videos during commercial breaks or of selected scenes during the telecast. I didn't even care who would win, and like what many pageant fans have observed, there was really no sense of competition after the top 30 contestants were called. It appears that the judges, headed by MWO president Julia Morley herself, meticulously hand-picked the girls who would advance to the top 15 and subsequently to the top 7.

After the top 7 finalists were called, each one of them had to respond to the same question, "Why should you be the next Miss World?" Watch the Q & A segment on YouTube. It's not even worth commenting on the response of each contestant, though I have to say that Miss Venezuela's use of an interpreter (who sounded so morose) was a clever strategy to buy some time and to seduce the judges (and the audience) with her delivery - which sounded more like a political spiel than a typical pageant response. The same question is asked every year, which is pathetic because it kills spontaneity, and without spontaneity, there's no room for the candidate to showcase her personality.

There were a few memorable moments, such as the street dancing group Diversity, the pre-taped dances of the world, and the heart-warming video montage featuring two ancient title holders, Denise Perrier (1953) and Antigone Costanda (1954) who also served in the judging panel. But still, the entire show lacked the glitz, glamour and glitter that is evident in Miss Universe. I hate the fact that the girls were not allowed to share their experiences via social networks like Facebook or Twitter, unlike in Miss Universe where there are no Gestapo public relations officers forbidding the girls from expressing themselves (unless, of course, the girls purposely say horrible things about the pageants while they're competing). I hate the fact that the press had very limited access to the girls and their activities. If MWO was looking to promote the pageant further, they failed miserably in this endeavor. After the show, I bumped into a national director who told me that Julia Morley runs the pageant "like a tyrant." Everything must be approved by her and her alone. Another national director told me that MWO never explained the scoring system, thus reinforcing the notion that the pageant is rarely transparent. So would I attend another Miss World pageant in the future? As long as Morley runs the show, I don't think so.

The stunning Philippine island of Bohol is a natural wonder, perfectly shielded from the vicious weather that blights many of the other nearby islands by being shielded on all sides, and so able to develop undisturbed into a perfect (if slightly tourist-ridden), picturesque centre of scuba diving, sailing and animal watching.

The incredible Chocolate Hills -- arguably Bohol's biggest draw -- poke like giant molehills through the forest canopies, more than 1,000 of them dominating a surreal skyline on what - legend has it - is a district formed by ancient giants bombarding each other with handfuls of sand.

It is believed to be an island which used to be submerged in water, which explains why there are a number of underground caves in this area. A popular cave to go to is the Hinagdanan caves in Panglao island.

Of course, being a tropical island, there's plenty in the way of beaches and water-based adventures, too. Scuba diving -- or at least snorkeling -- here is practically essential, and all takes place off rustic boats floating near coral-strewn, white sand beaches. The more adventurous can indulge in dolphin or whale watching, while incredible seashells (be careful of customs restrictions -- and never take anything live) sprinkle the beach.

All in all, Bohol is a slightly less obvious island destination than the typical Philippines holiday, and -- with its local take on culture and laid back vibe -- all the better for it.

MANILA, Philippines - During my two-month stint as a Binibining Pilipinas candidate, I experienced things that I never thought I would, such as dancing repeatedly on national television and riding through EDSA seated on an open-top sports car wearing nothing but a bikini and a ginormous headdress. Looking back, it seemed like a never-ending whirl of hair and makeup, followed by more hair and makeup while teetering from one place to another in five-inch heels. By the end of it, not only did I gain a newfound set of mad makeup skillz (Solenn, you better watch yourself; just kidding � I totally worship you.), but also mad respect for beauty queens and candidates alike. I may not have won, but I didn�t lose anything either because I picked up quite a number of valuable lessons on my rocky road to the crown:

1 Walking like a beauty queen is not easy

In pageantry, there is a time-honored exercise for beauty queen-hopefuls to train their hips to sway more when they walk. It is called (don�t laugh) the duck walk. Why the unfortunate name? I have no idea, but my feet start cramping up at the mere mention of this probable form of medieval torture. Try wearing heels no lower than four inches, fold your arms behind your back and lunge as low as your thighs and glutes will allow you while simultaneously thrusting your hips from side to side. One end of the room to another constitutes a single round. Repeat for a minimum of 10 rounds to a maximum of 20, then die from sheer exhaustion.

2 Plastic surgery is surprisingly common among candidates

I�ll be the very first person to admit that getting my chest, uh, enhanced actually crossed my mind. However, after a visit to the surgeon�s office and getting the opportunity to play around with actual silicon implants (i.e. stuffing them into my bra), I decided to leave without buying anything because I�m terrified of scalpels.

It�s not that I have anything against it. Some of the candidates who underwent a couple of nips and tucks, the most common being rhinoplasties and breast augmentation, were totally open about it and definitely more confident about themselves after. While there were rumors brewing that some candidates went as far as liposuction or rib removal (I kid you not) just to achieve Venus Raj�s 22-inch waistline, they�re all probably just that: rumors.

3 Beauty pageant candidates are pretty much their own hair and makeup artists

Not all, but most of them, at least. Although Binibining Pilipinas had David�s Salon as its official sponsor for the hair and makeup of the candidates, nearly every candidate already knew how to expertly wield her own set of makeup and hair tools ranging from professional brands like Kryolan and Babyliss to department store steals, like James Cooper and Finesse. After all, in international pageants, all candidates are expected to know how to fix themselves, so it didn�t hurt to start now. In the words of Helena Rubinstein, �There are no ugly women, only lazy ones.�

4 Candidates pack a serious amount of beauty booty

Surgery and makeup aren�t the only tools candidates resort to for image enhancement. From pricy investments like veneers and hair extensions to relatively affordable enhancements like false eyelashes, contact lens, Sally Hansen spray-on tans, Hollywood Tape or double-stick tape, which served the same purpose and stick-on silicone breasts (I proudly stuffed six of these into my swimsuit � three per boob � to make up for my not-so proudly endowed chest). Honorable mentions include Mighty Bond or electric tape for candidates who had problems with ears that stuck-out and Fanny Serrano bronzer for drawing on abs and emphasizing cleavage (yep, still on the boob issue). Of course not all candidates used all of these, but they were pretty common. With the sheer amount of products we had to use every day, most of us had to wheel around suitcases to and from Araneta Center every single day.

5 The beauty queen diet

I�m quite happy to say that in the two months that I spent with my co-candidates, not one of them seemed to exhibit any kind of eating disorder. Quite the contrary because whenever food was brought into our holding area, nearly all of it was inhaled within a matter of minutes. Not the most queenly behaviour, I�ll admit, especially not when the food in question was comprised of pizza, ice cream, tacos and burritos. Yup, since the pageant sponsors were Pizza Hut, Dairy Queen and Taco Bell, they were regular items on our menu. So how to did we not turn into life-size bikini-clad blimps after ingesting all this delicious fare for two months? I�d like to think it was superhuman-control, but truth be told, the likely culprits were probably stress and the next item on my list. Well, we did sprinkle inordinate amounts of McCormick Cinammon powder (for appetite suppression) and Cayenne Pepper (to speed up metabolism) � not at the same time, mind you � on nearly everything we ingested. However, I�d like to think it was superhuman self-control, but truth be told, the likely culprits were probably stress and the next item on my list.

6 We candidates dance a lot more than I care to admit

Dancing. Everywhere. All the Time. Mostly in our bikinis. All this dancing was a little more painful on my part because I don�t exactly have good body coordination and with all that duck walking, I just couldn�t have danced all night. There was dancing during the opening of our talent competition in Ali Mall. Dancing at our official press presentation in Sofitel. Dancing at a cocktail event in ABS-CBN attended by guests of honor, Gabby Lopez and Charo Santos-Concio. Dancing during a TV guesting in noontime show Happy Yippe Yehey. And so on and so forth until I had no more shame left during the opening number for the coronation night where I shook my money-maker for all it was worth, much to the distress of the Filipino TV viewing public.

7 Candidates spend a lot of time talking (about) sh*t

In a room full of 40 females, there�s bound to be some nasty talk about each other, but what amused me most was our collective fixation with bowel movement. Since we regularly had pretty early call times, this messed with our regular um, programming, which was pretty frustrating. I can�t tell you how many times we complained about not being able to go or how often nearly all cubicles were occupied by candidates simultaneously trying to heed the call of nature. In fact, it wasn�t at all uncommon for us to be doing both activities at the same time. Hey, clean is beautiful!

8 Get ready for major, major intriga

Candidates were warned way ahead of time about how nasty beauty pageant-related forums could get and were advised to keep our noses out of them if we didn�t want to be negatively affected by the comments. As for rumors, gossip and intrigue circulating on these websites, these things can get pretty intense. It�s shocking how easily and freely people jump to conclusions about certain things without even bothering to check their facts first or even giving other people the benefit of the doubt, but then again, all this just comes with the territory. With that said, I�d like to give serious props to every artista who�s ever participated in a staring contest with Boy Abunda while clearing up an issue during their �The Buzz moment.�

9 Beware the DOMs!

During one of our shoots by the poolside at Sofitel, a man at the prime of his life, to put it mildly, was lurking about our set with a ginormous D-SLR hanging in front of his naked, hairy chest framed by his shamelessly unbuttoned polo. That alone, coupled with his cheesy billowy white pants, Charlie Sheen-esque shades and medyas and Birkenstock clad feet, should�ve sent warning signals to me. But no, I thought he was a member of the media. And so I politely chatted with him and only understood just what the exchange was about when he left and returned with a glass of water and plate full of fruits for me. For the remainder of the shoot, the director and the executive producer joked about the fruits having some sort of gayuma that would make me fall in love with my new �friend.� Gross, guys. Just. Gross.

10 Apparently by the end of it, the crown is nothing but a headache

Throughout the entire ordeal, several beauty queens like Venus Raj were on-hand to provide much-needed advice and guidance to the aspiring Binibinis. My favourite encounter with Raj was during the shoot for our primer in Republiq. Backstage, she enlisted the help of a hair stylist from David�s Salon to help her pin her crown on. In a pique of curiosity, I asked her if it was heavy, to which she replied in jest, �Oo! Ang sakit sa ulo!� In more ways than one, but hey, you know what they say: beauty is pain.

I have reached the final stage of over analyzing things, LoL, now seriously before we see the board gets flooded with various Top 14 lists, allow me to post mine. It has been a great year, many things have happened in the pageant scene and 2010 can�t fly by without the last Major pageant of the year. Now instead of wrapping gifts for Christmas here I am brainstorming on what to type into the keyboard but honestly it has been fun! After a two year hiatus of solidly following pageants since I started in 2004, here I am with an attempt to observe if I qualify to be a pageant expert. This list is purely based on my personal favorites and this is what I want to see in the finals night for the 10th edition of the MISS EARTH pageant!

MY ELEMENTAL QUEENS:
Miss EARTH 2010: INDIA (Nicole Faria) - I have said it before and I will keep on saying that after Aishwarya Rai, Nicole is the MOST BEAUTIFUL Indian pageant contestant I've seen in years. She always photographs well, no bad angles no bad shots, just perfect! And I'd like to point out that she is one of the most if not the most Beautiful of all 84 contestants. My only qualm about her is that she comes off a bit cold and I tend to have reservations in communicating with her, no offense meant but that's just a personal opinion. On the other hand, India has given so much importance to this pageant by sending their best candidates (remember Pooja Chitgopekar and Amruta Patki?). So I think it's high time to crown Nicole Faria with the highest and the most important element. Miss Earth!

Miss Air: VENEZUELA (Mariangela Bonnani Randazzo) - Consistently strong! I remember Larissa Ramos was a consistent player and she ended up winning the Top plum. That means Mariangela can very much equal that feat. We�ve seen her place Top 5 at both Swimsuit and Evening gown competitions and that seals the fact that she's a MAJOR MAJOR frontrunner!! Need I say more? She's a lock in the Top 2!!

Miss Water: CZECH REPUBLIC (Carmen Justova) - Another goddess in the competition. it doesn't matter what placement she got in her national pageant the most important thing is that Czech Republic sent a Gorgeous delegate from head to toe. She, too, is Consistent by placing at both Swimsuit and evening gown segments and now all she needs is to have the Advocacy for the cause of Miss Earth and she can outshine India and Venezuela. She is Europe's chance to grab the top plum; last time Europe won was during the inaugural edition of this pageant. So she stands poise to just do that.

Miss Fire: VIETNAM (Lu Thi Diem Huong) - I placed her here not because she's the host delegate but because of the fact that she's worth the hype. When she is with the other contestants she stands out with her doll-like beauty and porcelain skin. She definitely is a contender! I can smell a Top 4 finish for the host delegate!

COMPLETING THE TOP 14::

5. ECUADOR (Jennifer Pazmino) - The most popular delegate and the Vietnamese love her. You can agree with me by watching the Evening gown video, she received the most support and was well applauded every time she came out on stage. Is she the most competitive? I can say so yes, we must be aware that this girl is a TV host back home so she is well spoken and that's an important factor in this pageant. Somebody who can send the message across is important, being popular simply means she has the ability to reach out to the public. So watch out for her!

6. SOUTH AFRICA (Nondyebo Dzingwa) � She�s the face of Africa, one of the faces of this pageant to boot. She gave a commendable performance at both evening gown and swimsuit competitions. I was smitten by her charm and kudos to her national organization for having a solid commitment to the cause. I believe she can go as far as clinching an element.

7. NETHERLANDS (Desiree Van Den Berg) - She's definitely a Miss Earth type of beauty. I admire her for her perseverance. it definitely is hard to be competing at 3 major pageants all in one year but instead of feeling homesick Desiree makes the most out of the experience. I think to be Miss Earth you need to sacrifice and to have a sense of hard work and she embodies both qualities.

8. KOSOVO (Morena Taraku) � She�s a Barbie, I have a feeling this girl can go far, all she needs is to put that pink gown in the closet and get a bolder and more sensual piece. She�s one of those girls who look good all the time sans make-up and I believe this will be her advantage. Can she put Kosovo in the semi-finals for the first time? I believe she can.

9. CHILE (Pamela Soprani)- It's a strong comeback for this South American nation who once won Miss Earth in the past. Pamela is One of the stylish if not the most stylish. She has an elegant flair in her. She delivered one of the best performances during the swimsuit competition. Great walk, amazing stage chops and a smoldering presence.

10. PUERTO RICO (Yeidy Bosques) � One of the fiercest Latinas around. It�s hard to ignore her presence. She gave one of the solid presentations of the lot and has one of the hottest bodies too. I wonder why she�s not getting the notice that she deserves especially in the swimsuit competition. Vavavoom babe!

11. AUSTRALIA (Kelly Louise Mcquire) � I admire beauty queens who display humility and who are able to reach out to their fans, Kelly is one of those determined girls who eye for the title and yet keeps her feet on the ground. She has this aura that does well in this pageant. She's a great communicator too. After Jesinta won Miss Congeniality at Miss Universe earlier, I think Kelly is a front runner for this award too. Plus she came to Vietnam well-prepared. She has worked hard to get to where she is now and the fans admire her for that. And oh how can I forget that svelte figure!

12. MEXICO (Claudia Lopez Mollinedo) � The gorgeous Claudia has bounced back and finally made it to my final list. This girl was one of the heavily criticized after her crowning but when she landed in Vietnam, she appeared looking so gorgeous and fresh, and she continues to dazzle day after day. Can she duplicate Abigail Elizalde�s feat and put her country back in the semi-finals for the second time? We�ll see on Saturday!

13. GERMANY (Reingard Hageman) � Watch out for this Blonde beauty. Her character reminds me of last year�s Miss France. I admit that she blew me out of the water when she appeared on stage during the swimsuit competition. She looked gorgeous and owns a hot body. I wonder why she wasn�t part of the Top 5. I like her she�s one of my soft spots this year.

14. GUAM (Naoimie Santos) � I�m fervently wishing to see a Guam breakthrough this year, in case this happens this will be the island�s first placement in this pageant and first placement in all big 4 pageants in 3 decades if I�m not mistaken. This island nation has produced a Miss World winner (by default) and a Miss universe first runner-up so it�s just fitting to see Guam enter the semi-finals and judging Naoimie�s looks, she can go as far as clinching an element. All she needs is to up the ante� cuz this is a fiercely contested event and any of the girls below can outshine her. But well done for the island of Guam for sending a stunner!

NOTABLES: Watch out for these beauties..

15. ITALY (Ilenia Arnolfo) - If Carousel productions makes last minute changes of keeping the Top 16 come finals night then Ilenia is definitely in! I must say she was one of those ladies who gave solid presentations at the preliminaries. She is beautiful and an Italian breakthrough in this pageant is needed so we can see beautiful ladies representing Italy in the next editions of this pageant.

16. NIGERIA (Inara Antonia Isaiah) - Spotlight on Miss Nigeria! oh boy this girl is my Venus Raj in this pageant, very lean upper extremities and beautiful legs. Great body and amazing stage presence. I love her evening gown though she should opt for a brighter color. Don't ignore her; her statuesque height is a plus and in my opinion she's the best Nigeria had sent in all major pageants at least for 2010!

17. JAPAN (Marina Kishira) � Her catwalk is a bit over the top as what some pundits say, but she�s just channeling her compatriot Riyo Mori and I like it. Let�s admit that she has set a standard for future Japanese women in this pageant, finally we can feel the presence of a Miss Japan. I like her fun demeanor, for 4 weeks in Vietnam it can be too tiring for some girls but it always feel sunny and happy with a dynamic character and contagious vivacity like Marina�s?

18. SOUTH SUDAN (Atong de Mach) � She is a star. Unconventional she may be but this girl knows how to capitalize on her assets. She�s definitely hard to ignore! My memory of her strutting her stuff during the swimsuit competition still lingers in my head and she was Fierce! She�s like Krista (America�s Next Top Model winner cycle 14). This is this autonomous region�s third entrant since its first participation in 2008, and I want to see her make it for her nation�s pride!

19. WALES (Louise Hinder) � We have a strong delegation from the United kingdom this year. And Louise leads the pack. Last year I fell head over heels in love with Miss Northern Ireland�s Kayleigh O�Reilly and I was ecstatic when she was called in the semi-finals. This year this Welsh stunner deserves the call.

20. RUSSIA (Victoria Schukina) � This Russian bombshell in some angles looks so much like Priscilla Meirelles (ME �04). She has an undeniably beautiful face, all she needs is to be truly dedicative on the cause of this pageant and she�ll do just fine.
