Subject: My responses -- JMO

1. Gives out scoresheets at the pageant and posts the master score sheet.
a) Depending on the number of contestants, it could be difficult to hand out score sheets at the pageant. If only 15-20-30, no problem, but if 100+ that could cause a huge back-log in families checking out, etc.
b) Speaking from experience. When scores have been given out at mid-size to larger pageants there are comparisons, arguments, confrontations and sometimes "heated" debates with the director. Not a good scence for anyone involved.
c) NO pageant for any age group (including teen scholarship pageants, MAO and MUO) has ever posted a master score sheet. Never in the history of pageantry!

7. Directors that do not use pageant moms as their judges.
I think FORMER pageant moms are OK. Certainly more knowledgeable than someone off the street But NOT if their dd is still competing.

8. No fallback dates. Compete your age the day of the pageant.
You could be dealing with national offices here. Some national programs have that fall-back date so it's not the local/state director's fault.

9 Director that introduces her judges before the pageant.
NO WAY! That's leaving the doors wide open for "secret" communication, huge COI, etc., etc., etc. Again, NEVER BEEN DONE, probably never will be. The ONLY time the public may be aware of who the judges are in advance is when program books are available at check-in, which is fine.

[> Your answer in "c" is not true. Untill about 8-10 years ago every pageant gave out scoresheet and posted the master copy. If you don't its up to you. -- Anonymous, 09:04:22 10/22/07 Mon [1]

[> [> a) My dd competed in the early - late 90's. That's 10 years ago. NO ONE EVER posted master s core sheets and she competed in 4 different states! b) Judges introduced by the emcee on-stage ONCE THE PAGEANT HAS STARTED, yes. but prior to the contestants arriving at the pageant, NO! HUGE COI! -- Anonymous, 14:27:43 10/22/07 Mon [1]

[> [> We didn't mean to introduce them before the pageant started. Certain pm's would try to get in touch with them before the pageant. We meant to introduce them when the pageant started. -- Anonymous, 14:44:56 10/22/07 Mon [1]

[> I don't have a problem with a pageant mom judging as long as their child isn't competing. They would have to be a mom that does not hold grudges against a child that might have won over hers in the past. -- Anonymous, 09:09:20 10/22/07 Mon [1]

[> [> [> OPSS! Hit "Enter" accidently..... If I own a state or local franchise I "have to" abide by the national rules! I totally understand that you don't have to enter if you don't like the rule -- I don't like it either. Just saying...... Some things can't always be changed. -- Anonymous, 14:30:48 10/22/07 Mon [1]

[> If your national director wants fallbacks that her option. It's our option not to do the pageant if we want. -- Anonymous, 09:27:46 10/22/07 Mon [1]

[> PFFP Club is not here to argue with anyone. You have your rules you have to follow and we appreciate that, but our members are looking for certain things in pageants. All we can do is let the director know what they want and its up to the moms if they want to enter. They may like your pageant enough that some of the rules wont matter, but at least they will know before attending it. -- Anonymous, 14:41:56 10/22/07 Mon [1]
