I have two MAJOR gripes about the last 3 national pageants I have attended. 1. Why the heck should I have to pay for a door badge? I have spent close to a thousand dollars entering the dang pageant. Why stick it to me for another few bucks just so I can watch my little darling? 2. Let my kid practice on the stage the night before. I don't care that La'Belle isn't done decorating yet, she's 3, and gets confused. She needs to know what the "x" looks like and exactly where it is. Otherwise, the nightly practice sessions and money spent on modeling is all for nothing. This REALLY GRIPES me if modeling is scored....then a judge will say, she took her eyes off me, and looked at the floor. Of course she did, she had never stepped on the dang stage before! UGGGGG... nothing upsets me more! Okay, that's my list. =) -- PARENTS FOR FAIR PAGEANTS CLUB

[> I totally agree with you about the stage time before the pageant. I think they should decorate early enough to give the girls time for practice. They really need it. Especially the little ones. Pageants have always charged door fees for as long as remember and thats quite a few years. If it wasn't for this person the child wouldn't even be at the pageant in the first place and that's just one more entry the director loses! With all the money they get what's one pass going to hurt?! I know they have to pay for the ballroom but I'm sure they make plenty on the other people attending. They're usually packed anyway! All that money spent to enter the pageant and still have to pay for a pass! What are you going to do, not buy the pass and leave your child to go at it alone??!! Yeah right!! So let's not imply that "my dd" has been allowed to run around with total disregard for everyone else. Now, as far as focusing on the positives, I thought this board was here for us to mention things we would like to change. I think it should be a "rule" that we get a door badge with registration. Personally, I don't think that's too much to ask. I don't care if it's always been that way. It's wrong. I have not problem paying for her grandmother, daddy and siblings. But, come on, charging me for taking my 3 year old into the ballroom......It's just wrong.
