Sorry, I misunderstood your question.
Now, soul is one of the things we know very little about. In Qur'an: " They will ask you about the soul. Say: the soul is a God�s thing (or that it operates at God's command) while you have been given only a little of knowledge"
Out of this very little knowledge is what we learned on how the human being is formed in the womb, where he moves through several stages (a drop of semen, a clot, a lump of tissue). Then the soul is insufflated into the fetus and stays in the body until that person dies. We also know that upon death, the person sees his / her soul as it is leaving their body.
We know that before any person is created, certain things are already decided, like his provision (what will he get in his life in terms of material things) and how long he will live and when and where this person will die. All these information are written in a preserved book which knowledge is revealed to nobody.
