Although I was not in the mood to listen to these stories but I do feel for her. As you know my dad has been ill for some time now and she is tending to all his needs and she is really really doing great efforts to make him feel comfortable, and then he said something that really upset her.

My brother told Mom on that day that he heard that one of mum's distant relatives has died, and all Dad had to say when he heard the man's name was "Yeah... I remember this man. He is the one that when I proposed to your mum was all happy and went like: "I can't believe that a man of this stature would want to marry someone of our family"!!

Now, that was a very, very bad thing to say (even if it had really happened) and that was what triggered all these memories and made mum want to tell them to me (although I have heard them from her like... two dozens of times before)
