It is really stupid. Meanwhile friends of mine have remortgaged and had to persuade the broker that they didnt want to take out a much larger sum and lie through their teeth about income. The expressions "Its very easy" "They dont bother to check" and "Everyone does it" were much in evidence.......ie just like the "sub prime mortgage" mess in the US which seems to be about to cause world wide recession as the US banks dodged around the regulations that tried to limit the amount the could lend...for just this reason.

The idea that peopel could be made homeless when they have a reasonable income, and a record of payments....and children!!!! Scandalous - and I dont care how old godger I sound.

These bastards are playing around with OUR money, OUR pension money, OUR savings (well, those of you who have any) and all they do is use it to make disgustingly huge salaries and bonuses in the 'City'. I go inot some of these companies and the stories some of the guys who work as postroom people, security etc tell me.

Meanwhile in London it has been known ofr years that some people have been getting council accomodation in several local authorities using the same family in each...because the local councils cant co-ordinate their recordkeeping..or cant be bothered. Still it doesnt matter, its only our money being used to provide several homes for cheats and frauds at the expense of genuine claimants, the decent ones who fill in the forms like they are told to, and then get treated as if they are the cheats or sub human. I know, Ive had some friends go through the system who were genuine claimants. A horrible system, totally incompetent, only the cheats and fraudsters can effectively get money from them.

Sorry about that, but I am passionate about our wonderful welfare system and bloody angry at the way it is misused, abused and allowed to be ruined by fraud and incompetence.

Does this mean you are now in a home, or about to be?
