Subject: I just wanted to wrap up the year of postings here by saying Merry Christmas, Happy Yuletide and Happy New Year to everyone who visits this wee cottage on a regular basis.


Thank you for the support, you all reading my wee bits and pieces here and commenting on them helps to keep me on track and encouraged to keep going in an industry that gets increasingly bizarre and harder to fathom each day. (thinking of James Frey's writer's factory that he has going now). In a way I feel that the trajectory of my work has been just what it needed to be- I really am able to connect directly with readers, to write what I want to write and am not bound by anyone else's formula of what they believe will sell.

I probably won't post too many more snippets before the book itself is done, it's time to pull up the drawbridge and hunker down for me. I can feel the weight of the book on me and it's time to finish it up. So in the New Year, I plan to step through that 'portal' and live in their world as much as I can with children and a husband and demanding animals.
