Subject: I took it to mean Casey owes Robin, at least in Robin's mind. It's almost as if there are several Robin's -- the cold-blooded killer we met in "The Scotsman's Lament", the jovial but volatile man Casey plays cards with and the damaged, angry yet basically good-hearted young man he was friend's with growing up.
In reply to: Mahri 's message, "'Kirkpatrick's Folley' was a very peaceful, comforting chapter. Though I've never been able to get a good picture in my mind of Jamie's study, the words in the descriptions always make me feel warm and invited. Why do you think Jamie doesn't speak or return the 'I missed you' that Pamela offers? And I'm not sure if we covered this in the last discussion, but what do you make of the last line of 'Deuces Wild' 'A debt is still unpaid, even if forgotten.' Is it Casey who owes the debt or Robin? I sure didn't want to like Robin, not after our first meeting with him, but knowing that he and Casey were close...well..I just couldn't help wanting to see what was good in him, there had to be something to be like a brother to Casey, even though obvioulsy much has changed and transpired between them." on 15:00:27 08/06/09 Thu
