Jamie has asked Pamela to take photos, which will be used in a booklet, for a housing project that Pat is developing, and she agrees after consulting Casey.

Pat is working closely with Jamie, and he and Sylvie are frequent guests at Kirkpatrick's Folly.

The housing development is meant for both Catholics and Protestants, which poses problems even beyond what you might expect.

For his first case study, Pat takes Pamela to the caravan home of travellers Victor and Emily, who are expecting a child any day.

Patrick and Pamela happen upon a tragedy inside the caravan. The constable turns out to be someone Patrick recognizes.

On a snowy night, Casey returns from the Pub fully inebriated and lusty. As he attempts to undo Pamela's buttons with his teeth, the security guard, Harvey, meets up with them.

Pamela learns that Casey had just been meeting with Joe Doherty and Robin. And that he'd gotten a tattoo on a dare.

They almost reach the point of argument, but settle things quickly by making love. He whispers in her ear, a liomsa. Mine.
