Ladies,
There is a new Miss Pageant to be held on April 5, 2008, MISS KENTUCKY COMMONWEALTH. To enter a contestant must be between 20-29 (by April 5, 2008), single or divorced with or without children. There are only two categories-evening gown and bathing suit. The prizes are crown, banner and $500 cash if there are 5 or more contestants and crown, banner and $300 cash if less than 5 contestants. The Miss America Organization announced on August 11th at the Miss America's Outstanding Teen Pageant in Orlando that the 2008 Miss America Pageant will take place on Saturday, January 26th, 2008 @ the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, NV!

It was also announced that Miss America has signed a 3 year agreement with Planet Hollywood and an unnamed tv network. On Monday, there will be an official announcement including the name of the network.

The contestants will also be travelling to Los Angeles again sometime mid October.

These are the details that we have at this time. We will pass along updates as they are available

* Entry fee is $50.00 payable to the Casey County Apple Festival. Fee is not refundable. Entry fee must be received by 5 p.m. EST September 8, 2007.

* Contestants will compete in 3 categories:
- Interview: 50% -Skirt or pant suit is appropriate for attire.
- Swimsuit: 25% -One-piece swimsuit, your choice of color with wrap, shoes should be clear or skin color.
- Evening Gown: 25%-Floor length gown in your choice of style and color.

* Check-in will begin at 5:00 p.m. EST the day of the pageant, and interview will begin at 8:00 p.m. Contestants will interview in a one-on-one format with 4 -minute interviews per judge.
* A dressing area will be provided for contestants.
* Prizes will be awarded to 1st and 2nd runner-ups, and one winner will be crowned. A Mrs. Congeniality will also be awarded, voted on by contestants and directors.
* The contestant crowned Mrs. Casey County Apple Festival will go on to represent Casey County Apple Festival at the Mrs. Kentucky America Pageant in June 2008 in Louisville

* For the Mrs. Photogenic competition all contestants are encourage to bring one photo the night of the pageant.

* Entry fee is $35.00 payable to Casey County Apple Festival is due no later than 5:00 p.m. September 7, 2007. NO EXCEPTIONS. No refunds will be given. Numbers will be assigned at random. This includes Free admission for the contestant & 1 parent.

Contestants will compete in three categories: Interview, Sportswear, and Formal Wear.
Interview attire is contestants choice (dress, pant suit, skirt and top, etc.).
Sportswear attire is white shorts and a solid color T-shirt of your choice, white tennis shoes and white socks with a
1 1/2" or 2" ribbon belt to match t-shirt. No cropped T-shirts or T-shirts with logos, please.
Formal wear attire style and color is contestants choice. It MUST be full length and age appropriate. No short or tea-length dresses are accepted.

I was very proud of all 3 winners. Pre-teen is new to competition, but she handled the pressure well, very cute! Teen is glorius,she knows what she is doing.Very polished! Miss Harrison is beautiful.I think she should do well at state. This could be a lucky year for the county, they will certainly be represented well.

These are the counties that I think are left: Allen County, Adair County, Laurel County, Larue County, Cumberland County, SoKY (i think that Bowling Green), Simpson County, Rockcastle, Monroe County, Jefferson County and then Morehead-Rowan Counties.

The Miss Barren Co. Fair Pageant will be held on Thursday July 26th. The Pre-teen starts at 6:00 (cst) with the Teen and Miss to follow. The fee is $35.00 and you register at the door. The pageant is held at the Temple Hill Lions Club Fairgrounds located on Hwy. 63. If you want to map the directions the address is 10168 Tompkinsville Road Glasgow, Ky 42141. ALL PAGEANTS ARE OPEN - Sunday, July 22nd

PRE-TEEN - 5:00 pm - Evening Gown and Finalists will answer an on-stage question. Winner receives round crown, satin banner, rhinestone crown pin, trophy, flowers, cash prize, entry fee to state, hotel at state.

TEEN - 6:00 pm - Evening Gown and Finalists will answer an on-stage question. Winner receives round crown, satin banner, rhinestone crown pin, silver tray, flowers, cash prize, entry fee to state, and hotel at state.

MS. - 6:45 pm - Evening Gown. Winner receives round crown, satin banner, rhinestone crown pin, silver tray, flowers, and cash prize.

MISS - 7:00 pm - Swimsuit, Evening Gown, and Finalists will answer an on-stage question. Winner receives round crown, satin banner, rhinestone crown pin, silver tray, flowers, cash prize, cash for escorting Little Miss & Mr. at the State Fair, entry fee to state, and hotel at state.

MRS. - 7:30 pm (held between swimsuit and evening gown competitions of the Miss pageant) - Evening Gown and On-Stage Question. Winner receives crown, satin banner, rhinestone crown pin, silver tray, flowers, cash prize, and entry fee to state.

These pageants are held inside a school auditorium with plenty of dressing room space. There will be OUT OF STATE judges used for the Teen, Ms., Miss, and Mrs. Pageants!!

*The Little Miss & Mr., along with Preteen, Teen & Miss will have state advancements for the winners.

*Each division will have a winner, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd runner-up. All placements will receive a trophy; the winners will receive trophy, crown, banner & title. All state advancing division winners will receive additional prices. Each contestant will receive a participation trophy.

* The Teen division will compete in an interview and casual sportswear competition prior to evening gown on pageant day. An interview and sportswear winner will be chosen based on scores from these competitions. These competitions are closed to the public!!!

* The Miss division will compete in an interview and swimwear competition prior to evening gown on pageant day. An interview and swimwear winner will be chosen based on scores from these competitions. These competitions are closed to the public!!! The Miss competition will have a Miss Congeniality (chosen by the contestants) and a Photogenic winner. Please send photo along with application.

*Miss McCreary County Fair Division – Since we have contestants from all over KY, we will have a Miss McCreary County winner, only for a McCreary County resident, and a Miss McCreary County Fair, eligible to compete at state for our county. Both will receive crowns, trophy and banner. Miss McCreary County will win a $500.00 scholarship and be able to participate in all of our local events to represent her county. Miss McCreary County Fair will receive, her entry fee paid to state, one night motel stay paid at state competition and each girl will receive a $50.00 cash prize. If the highest scoring contestants is a McCreary County resident, then she will win all above prizes. There will then only be one winner.
Pageant Day:

3:00 p.m. Teen Casual Sportswear (Please arrive about 15 minutes before for registration)

3:45 p.m. Miss Swimwear (Swimwear will start immediately after Teen Sportswear)

4:00 p.m. Teen Interviews (These will be held in a classroom)

4:30 p.m. Baby Registration (Ages 0-59 months)

5:00 p.m. Pageant Begins

5:00 p.m. Miss Interviews (These will be held in a classroom)

5:30 p.m. Little Miss & Mr., & Preteen Registration

6:00 p.m. Teen & Miss should be preparing for evening gown

HELLO EVERYONE!

I had a few comments that the board was a little difficult to read because of the white text. I've done some modifications and hope you enjoy them. If there is any problems, do not hesitate to comment so I can provide a better board for you girls.

Also, I'm sure a few of you who where online earlier today may have noticed some negative comments on the board. I assure you that the problem has been taken care of and I hope the issue doesnt resurface.

If anyone feels that a message is not lady-like or congenial, let me so it can be stopped immediately.

I am also very happy with the volume of comments that has been posted. It lets me know that you appreciate the forum and utilize it for its purpose.

Good luck to all at the county pageants and GOOD LUCK to the finalist that will be competing at the Galt House in Louisville this January.

Great pageant. Very smooth running. Miss HC was Anna Kristen Lewis. Very poised and natural. Could finally put a new county winner on the list at state. Miss Teen was Katie Himes. Polished and presented well. Tall, Beautiful dress, a little skinny.

I want to remind you that Franklin-Simpson pageants are Monday, July 9 in Franklin Kentucky. Preteen, Teen, and Miss state preliminaries. Registration will be taken at door. Round crowns, beautiful trophies and expenses paid at state! Five placings in Miss! Top ten get award. Lots of optionals!

Children's pageants,0-12 years, Little Miss and Master and Mother/Daughter pageants will be held on Tuesday, July 10. Registration will also be taken at door. $20.00 includes all optionals, prettiest hair, eyes, smile and photogenic.

ALBAUGH IS NATIONAL TOP FIVE FINALIST

For Immediate Release- On Saturday, July 7, 2007, Richmond teen Amy Albaugh added another achievement to her resume. Albaugh’s latest success occurred when she advanced out of her spot as a top ten semifinalist and placed 3rd runner up at the national Miss Teen America pageant in Nashville, TN.

Albaugh won the title of Miss Kentucky Teen America in January, which qualified her to compete at the national pageant. With the honor of being named to the national Queen’s court also came a $1000 cash scholarship, crystal medallion and award, and numerous other prizes.

During the eight day competition each of the contestants competed in the areas of interview, talent or spokes model, fitness in swimsuit, eveningwear, public service announcement, and modeling. The top ten semifinalists were chosen based on the highest cumulative scores from these events. These ten contestants then competed again in swimwear, talent, and on stage interview.

While the week was full of grueling competition, there was still time for fun. The contestants made appearances across Nashville including at locations such as Nashville Shores, Opry Mills Mall, the Wildhorse Saloon, and a Nashville Sounds Baseball game.

Contestants were asked to select an issue of concern that they would choose to dedicate their time to through community service. As an active volunteer for numerous organizations within the community Albaugh chose to promote volunteer service as a whole through her platform, “Volunteering; A Rewarding Way of Life!”

For her talent Albaugh performed an original Acrobatic Jazz Dance to “Walking on Sunshine!”

The top five spots were awarded as follows: 4th runner up- Tesia Worley, Hawaii; 3rd runner up- Amy Albaugh, Kentucky; 2nd runner up- Amanda Alicea, New York; 1st runner up- Katie O’Shea, Georgia; 2007 Miss Teen America- Brittany Brannon; Arizona.

Albaugh is the 18 year old daughter of Rich and Donna Albaugh of Richmond and began competing in pageants at age ten. She is a 2007 graduate of Model High School and will attend Eastern Kentucky University this fall where she will be a member of the Cheerleading squad.

Albaugh will spend the rest of her year as Miss Kentucky Teen America making appearances across Kentucky. She will also volunteer and work with community service projects in the Central Kentucky area.
