And the comments you quoted about religion seems very American to me. We are a diverse nation, founded for the practice of the religion of our choice. Why is it threatening to you not to be solely called a Christian nation?

And the "apology" speech also takes European countries to task for their recent attitudes toward America. I was of the opinion that it was a reaching-out to build better relations in the future.

I don't sleep all the good right now, thanks. My own personal problems keep me awake. But I do feel more confident in the government right now. Not in all of it, by any means, and not even with everything the President is in favor of. I certainly don't have rose-colored glasses on or a constant warm fuzzy feeling, but I'm more optimistic.

And I also respect your opinions. I do enjoy reading responses from others who do not share my beliefs. That's part of what I love about America.

and we can agree to disagree. I do respect your opinion, but what offends me is the declaration that we are not a religious nation. We are. We were founded on Judeo-Christian principles. To go to Europe and deny that is pandering to those who do not have our best interests at heart. For all of his apologies, he accomplished nothing. Please keep in my that the is MY OPINION only. I know it will not be resolved here, so I guess dropping it is the best thing. I am very glad to have a place to vent my opinions, and someone to discuss them with.
