The President is going to be making a speech to encourage students to do their best in school and achieve their goals. And this is grounds for protest, why?

I always encouraged my two sons to watch Presidential addresses, no matter who was in office. And then we had a discussion about how they viewed it. I think this is a great chance for students to hear directly from their President and then have a discussion on civics, government, and the importance of education.

I personally pity any parent who considers this some kind of mind-control attempt. They must truly keep their children in a bubble!

it isn't speaking to the school kids and the speech so much that has folks so upset, it's the creepy study guide and distrust of what the teachers will make of it.
