~*~He waves the hat high int he air~*~ "Not till you catch up" ~*~He galloips the stallion forward, towards a large log in the path, in the spurr of the moment he foregets tha the stallion knows little about jumping western, the colt makes a desperate attempt to clear the log, his forleg catches, he flips over his head, twistingabout his body to land hard on his side, wild eyes flash about in fear and confusion, DSensing a fall he drops her hand and lets the reins slip though his fingers, so the gag will not cut into the motuh of the colt, the colt, near 3 years old comes down hard with at least a 2 ton poundage on jakes leg, a sickoning crack is heard, Jake bites his lip hard and stifles a yell or scream, which would only frighten the stallion more, who flashes the whites of his eyes, Jake's shaky hand caresses the colt's neck~*~

*She winces slightly and takes his uncleched hand in hers briefly, holding on tightly, then lets go to take the stallion's reins. Murmuring softly, she attempts to coax the stallion up, with as little injury to Jake as possible* Jake... do you think you can roll out of the way as soon as he starts to stand? *She takes her eyes away from the horse for a brief moment to glance at him, almost wishing she hadn't, she hated to see him in this much pain* -- Marie, 17:21:45 03/23/01 Fri

~*~He shakes his head lightly* "I don't think so.....But i think i can go right on up with him......" ~*~He sighs lightly, the pain was now only a vauge sense of something that was, he wouldn't doubt it if he his foot was blue with the weight of the horse to hinder circulation, he tightly secured his fingers under the saddle, slipping his other foot from the sturrup, and moving it so he could lay across the saddle when the horse rose~*~ -- Jake, 17:30:34 03/23/01 Fri

~*~The stallion Jerks his head back at the sharp bite of the gag and the pinch of the wire, scrambling to his feet, Jake swings his other leg down as the horse steadys himself, letting out a sigh, then wincing as feeling renews itself, a horrable pain that spoke of fractures~*~ -- Jake, 17:46:06 03/23/01 Fri

*She shifts her grip on the reins, changing her grip to close to the horse's mouth to hold his head still. She clucks loudly, tugging on the reins lightly, moving the stallion slowly to the large log. *She looks up at his words, wondering, a small hint of softness edging in. She places her hand lightly on his arm, looking with intence eyes at his pale face, wondering, voice nearly as soft as his* Jake? *Sighs and turns her head to look down the path morosly, then casts her gaze around. She spots a rather large trail cutting off from the path they were on, probably from a roundup. She makes a slight face, muttering under her breath* That would be useful... if we had a truck. *She slumps her shoulders slightly, then stops for a few moments.
