In chapter nine, fathers were discussed about their changing role. My parents had a different view of how I should of handled my family structure. My parents thought that I should make it possible for my wife to stay at home. They thought it was my duty to mandate that my wife to quite her work as a nurse. I was with my wife as she struggled to obtain her nursing degree. I had to continually inform my parents that she and the children would be fine. I have never had lock key children. My wife provides more than enough of a nuturing home. We have tremdous support from friends and family. Things could be better, but the family as a whole is stronger than I anticipated. My parents have grown to respect our discission. I do need to take some of the suggestions on how to spend time with developing a stronger relationship with both my sons and daughter. I will work on how to give additional information on some of the decissions that should be coming up for the children.
