1. I think that Robert Johnson's deal with the devil did included parts of faustian."These are deals that Johnson and others supposedly made for virtuosic chops, fame, and fortune, provided by the Devil, in exchange for the bluesman's immortal soul." This tells us that he wanted to be a musician so bad that he infact did sell his soul in a type of faustian. Johnson was born with the things he needed to be a great musician, he had the voice and the vision. He knew that he could make his dreams possible for sure if he made a deal with the devil.

2.Hoodoo is "encoded passages of Creole work songs" and a number of lost styles that were gone at the same time as slavery. It fits well into the writing of Johnson's songs because it talks about the lone bluesman who shares many of the African American fears in the white world just like he had felt for many years.

3.I think that it is a tale that is shared by all musicians no matter their ability because it said earlier that Johnson had the ability, he had the voice, he had the vision, yet waiting at the crossroads made him famous. Any musician that wants to be that famous would do anything to achieve that goal because that is their dream. Dreams rarely come true and if they had one chance to make it happen they would do it. It could be the decision between living your goal with money and social power to being stuck working at an average or below average job that does nothing to help your dreams come alive. Many songs have reference to this certain "crossroads" where they find themselves alone and then suddenly have what they have always wanted therefore we can see that many musicians, not only Johnson have had things like this happen with the Devil.

4. I do not know what I would wait for at the crossroads. Maybe to become a great doctor at Children's and be able to save children from horrible diseases. Maybe I would want the chance to be a professional athlete. I do not know at this time what I want so it is hard for me to decide.
