I am kind of new to the pageant world. My daughter has been doing this about 3 years. From what I have seen I really don't see how some of these girls can call themselves queens. They should realize that no matter where they are that they are representing their festival. I would never let my daughter go to another pageant or ride in a parade dressed the way some of these girls do.

And I have seen on the other board where a mother will complain that no one understands that these girls have to sit there for at least a couple of hours and they should be comfortable. Well you know what, the way I see it, when they competed they should have realized what the job, and yes it is a job, would require of them. There is no way we would go to work with holes in our jeans or shorts so short. And that is with a Monday thru Friday job. Most of them only do this 1 day a weekend. So yes it should be understood that they should dress like a queen that they claim to be.

And yes apparently interviews are too easy. If you listen to some of these girls speak you would never believe that they should be representing anything.

And not to mention what some of them do on the weekends when they are not at pageants. Not a role model I would want for my child.

Thanks for letting me vent.
