Off the Tracks

He barks the tones of temper
fists fly as blood spills
like a swirl painting
blinding his mind

It was there with him
that serrated edge
that cuts hearts
just to see them bleed

in the hammock of his peace
He lays still, listening for the rhythm
of some lost and lazy river
hidden in the catacombs
of a lonely poets dream

he is no prisoner for pardon
just a traveler for time
slipping through the back roads
insanity is blind
