Paul Russell Jackson 78, died October 2, 2008 following a brief illness. He was born to the late Paul and Nellie (Terrell) Jackson in Indianapolis, IN. He graduated from Arsenal Tech in 1948 and Indiana Business College in 1950. Mr. Jackson was an Army veteran who served in France following WWII. He was employed by Hoosier Coal & Oil Co. from 1966 to 1981, rising to the position of President. He worked in the marketing department of Citizens Gas after its purchase of Hoosier Coal & Oil, retiring in 1992. Mr. Jackson was a 50-year member of Prospect Lodge #714, Scottish Rite, and Murat Shrine. He was active in Northside Optimist Club and Indianapolis Hiking Club. An avid golfer and sports fan, he followed all types of auto racing and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandsons. Mr. Jackson is survived by his daughter Paula Tinkey and her husband David, grandsons Daniel and Spencer, and several cousins. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 7 at 11 a.m. at Flanner and Buchanan Zionsville. Friends may call two hours prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northside Optimist Club. Online condolences may be made at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
