Subject: Byron Sweezy, class of 38

Byron Sweezy 85, Scottsdale, AZ, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away October 5, 2008. He was born September 10, 1923 to William and Zuma McNew Sweezy. Byron served in the U.S. Army in Europe in WWII. He married Jo Anne Richards August 30, 1946. Byron worked as a driver for various trucking companies, and was the Fuel Supervisor for the City of Indianapolis. Visitation will be Friday, October 24, 2008 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m., at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St. Byron is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jo Anne Sweezy; sons, Michael (Melanie) Sweezy of Greenwood, IN, and Mark (Marilyn) Sweezy of Phoenix, AZ; brother, John (Carole) Sweezy; grandchildren, Michael (Eadie) Sweezy, Jr., Ronald Sweezy, Leslie Sweezy, Shannon Sweezy; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Logan, Caleb and Nathanael Sweezy. Byron was preceded in death by his parents; infant sons, Gary and Martin Sweezy, and sister, Evelyn Touchette. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
