Subject: Is Rhodesia gone forever

It has been years since we watched the final days of chaos
unfold in Rhodesia and the demise of the white dominated goverment. I sympathised then for the brave men and woman that were trying to sustain their way of life against horrific odds. It has revisited my thoughts lately with the death of Mr.Smith and how accurate his prediction of chaos was. When I see white farmers being murdered and run off their land and hords of uneducated blacks moved in to take their place I can't help but feel great anger. The resulting starvation and chaos is'nt a big surprise. Without sounding like a racist, is there any possibility of the whites returning to their former position in the country. Are there enough sound minds out there to realise that this big experiment has been an absolute disaster and support an overthrow of this tin pot dictator. It is my feeling that the Rhodesian whites were amoung the bravest and most organised and productive people in the world. Is a regathering of this people possible with some powerful support from somewhere. The shambles of a country that is left almost cries out to have them return. Or is Rhodesia gone forever?

Ian Smith, the UK, US and the UN are all to blame for what happened in Rhodesia. Rhodesia was a utopia for a small minority. If the politicians of the day actually worked together then Zimbabwe would still be the jewel of Africa. But people like Smith, Mugabe and the western world had to let race get involved and stuff it up for all.

All you people that visited or lived there after moving from some where else have no rightful claim to Rhodesia. (Small fact, of all white people claiming to be Rhodesian only 36% of them were actually born there) You can all go back to your roots and get on with it. To those true born and bred Rhodesians who are true to themselves you will know that Africa is no longer a place for you to live, white people are not tribal and will never truly understand Africa. So get over it and get on with life.

I was born Rhodesian but I will always be white and I will never know what it is to be treated as a second class citizen like the blacks of Rhodesia were treated. I am now a proud citizen of the world and happy and richer for it.
