] Date Posted: 20:10:53 01/11/08 Fri When Lady Winter cries, silver branches catch her tears, and stony ledges bony fingers clutch her icy spears. Her frosty mantle, snowy white, she lays across the land. She scatters pearls and diamonds on it with a lavish hand. She's beautiful and deathly pale in silver moonlight's glow, but adventurer, beware, when Winter's breezes start to blow. For the wolves of Winter howl and moan, long into the night, and to brave the winter winds is to tempt their bitter bite. Her growling curs have chilling names; Storm's Fury, Blizzards Rage. With vicious wrath they snap ans snarl, like beasts trapped in a cage. When Winter sets them free, they leap forth, beautiful and savage, with nothing in their hearts but 'terrorize and ravage.' They roam the shivering countryside 'til Winter calls them back. In leaps and bounds, as they return, they leave their snowy track. Unhappy to be chained again, they whimper and they whine. But Lady Winter hushes them, for she has seen the sign of Springtime's march on her domain. The wolves now softly groan as Spring steps forth to stake her claim on Winter's melting throne.
