Clothes sticking to my skin,
I face the sky

palms outstretched.

I feel heavy,
like the trees
that stand upright
in the steady mizzle,

crystal planets dropping off
their slender twigs.

On a day like this,
seated slothfully in a corner
frequent flashes
pierce my firmament.

Rumblings,
platter of drops,
and interspersed silence
plays out the melody,

that we once sang together.

Arunansu,

Your pen has been on fire lately, showing us many shades of your work. Very nice!

Peace and hope,

Paul

Thank you. Inspired by a song written by Rabindranath Tagore , "Emono dine taare bola jai", which means "on a day like this, you may tell her". Its one of my favourites.
Cheers.

A graphic and a strong image of man standing then sitting alone and in the end you know he's lost or missing some one so well put to the pen

A beautiful, spare, intense work. I love it! Reminds me of Neruda "Tonight I can write the saddest lines".

Lovely, lovely, Friend.

I am not sure how long you have been
at this poetry thing but, I can tell
you that your skills are special ones.

Never deviate from your style and you
will find that your poems take you to
places that free the heart, mind, and
soul; all the while bringing insight
and rewards for those of us that read
them.

My opinion is simply what it appears to
be; an opinion.

That said, it isn't based on reading
twenty poems.

You are one of those people (and there are
more here at the motel) who have the talent
to write poems that lift off a page and
expand with each passing word.

thanks,
andy

Dear Andy,

Its so kind of you to say this. Getting such praises from my fellow poets here is an honour, and an encouragement.

Thank you,

Arunansu

Hello Arunansu

Captured in each raindrop is a microcosm, and your words capture the immense beauty of a moment shared, then the thunderous darkness of the memory of that moment alone. Such life springs from this, just amazing.
