] Date Posted: 10:42:08 01/28/08 Mon Navajo colors blanket the waking desert. Shaman greets the dawn. Scent of purple sage rises on the morning breeze. Eagle cries aloft. Saguaro cactus silhouettes against the sky. Silent onlookers. Chants and smoke mingle. Prayers to spirit totems. A dreamers vision. White buffalo calf, glowing like the summer moon, shares ancient wisdom. Shaman's dark eyes smile. Vision quest has been fulfilled. Ancestors beckon. Dusk falls on desert. Young boy finds missing shaman. Acolyte's heart weeps. Shannon Mahalko (c) 2005 Written as my challenge to other poets on another site, to write a cohesive story poem using at least 3 haiku/senryu...
