it was Friday,
3 days past due date,
and through the dull murmur
of nameless faces
and the muted rustle
of turning pages
you could still hear a pin drop
as she returned
the atlas

of time and money
she had become slave,
her music, the hustle and bustle
of a crazed city, became
her thief of sleep
with its ever deafening voice
carving her midnight skin

a childhood gift; the ability to travel
~when her eyes would finally close~
away from all the crazy,
to the green man of whispering leaves,
he touched her heart in soft breezes,
became the paradise of sanity
and the keeper of dreams,
he showed her love and acceptance,
and kept her body safe

you just can't find that
in a book

On the move here but have some time for reading
and commenting. Sasha, I read this late night
as you probably already know because of the email.
Your voice contains such power and beauty that
whispers itself into words as we journey down
the page.

Gifted you are, even in the absent feeling of
a vacant muse. Things are not always what they
appear to me.
