Yamuna flows by, quietly,

Seasons walk in silence.

I pass my days, ruminating,
eyes fixed on the pool

My noble friends,
here rests the cenotaphs
of an eternal love,

tread softly.

Hear the obedient Minarets
calling out, �Mumtaz!�

Union domes,
emerald charbaghs,
calligraphy on the pishtaqs
echo her name

I have to soothe them. Everyday.

Time has formed it�s fungus on me,
skin blackened
with toxins,

yet my fragrance haven�t died out.

Feel the marbles,
soft,
moistened

step gently.
